I realize that when I started blogging, I spent too much time looking at the writing blogs I admired (like Go Into the Story and JohnAugust.com) and thinking about how I wanted to be just like them. In other words, I wanted people to respond and send in questions for me to answer. It’s blog envy, really.
Additionally, I experimented with trying to launch a script notes service as a freelance side project of mine. I thought that if I started giving people notes on their scripts for free, then I could use the positive feedback to market myself professionally. That didn’t go so well. Life got in the way, and for now I think that project is on hold.
But those two things combined led to a good six month silence on this blog. But no more! This is my new purpose here. I think the best thing I have to offer on this blog is myself. I am a struggling spec writer living in Hollywood, and I think my thoughts on that subject, and all the struggles and successes that come with it, is the best thing I have to offer on this site.
So keep an eye out for more posts. I would like to start posting maybe once a week (starting small for now) and will probably keep them short and sweet.
